American Little Groups of Paratroopers (LGOPS) was an accidental effect during the Normandy D-Day landings due to scattered drops. We tend to want to fight set-piece battles with larger units against larger objectives. www.combatreform.org The Russians also had decisive effects with LGOPS defending Moscow in WW2 and deliberately send small groups of saboteurs behind enemy lines with their SPETSNAZ special forces.
